Museum and Sanctuary Virgen de las Viñas
TOMELLOSO
The Museum of the Virgen de las Viñas is located within the area of Pinilla, on the Carretera de Pedro Muñoz, 4 km. from the town. Sixty years of history and traditions form this museum. A project in which the Hermandad put all its efforts and which since 14th August 2002 has become a reality thanks, above all, to the generous donation of Encarnación Ramírez, who donated the site where it is located.
The museum houses photographs and documents dating back to the 1940s when Tomelloso welcomed its Patron Saint. There are also four showcases displaying dresses, cloaks, mantillas, banners and flags of the Virgin, as well as candlesticks and sacristy objects, and the Libro de Oro de la Hermandad dating from 1942.
La The Hermitage is a nave with a transept presided over by a beautiful image of its patron saint, the Santísima Virgen de las Viñas. Its forged and stained glass doors, its furniture, its stained glass windows with the four evangelists, the painting of the ceiling of the Camarín de la Virgen, which is a true masterpiece, work of painter Ezequiel Cano, are all outstanding pieces.
The Museum of the Virgen de las Viñas is located in the Pinilla area as well as the largest forest in the whole of Tomelloso, with three extensive pine forests, and other types of autochthonous trees and bushes, all with street furniture, lighting, toilets and a Bar-Restaurant.
